The Brief
BCM partnered with Container Exchange (COEX) to develop the Containers for Change campaign, encouraging Queenslanders to embrace container recycling and make a positive environmental impact.
Create an engaging campaign that motivates everyday Queenslanders to participate in the container refund scheme, making recycling accessible and rewarding.
## The Challenge
With container recycling schemes being relatively new to Queensland, many residents were unaware of how the program worked or the environmental benefits it could deliver. We needed to cut through apathy and build genuine enthusiasm for a behaviour change.
## Our Approach
We developed a vibrant, people-focused campaign that celebrated the everyday Queenslanders already making a difference. Using the rallying cry 'Cheers to the Change Makers', we highlighted real stories of community members, schools, and sporting clubs turning their containers into cash for causes they care about. The campaign featured bright, optimistic creative across TV, digital, outdoor, and social channels, making recycling feel accessible and rewarding rather than a chore.
